The traditional shirt - the pride of the Moldavian village, second edition

Miroslava, Iași County

2023 - 15 July

On Saturday, July 15, 2023, we had good weather and nice time spent with the ladies of the Asociația Femeilor din Mediul Rural „Olga Sturdza” (member of the Romanian Women's LOBBY. We had "a sweet..." with surprises in Miroslava.

The few hours we spent together were in a place full of history and memories, the Sturdza Palace, where we had the opportunity to watch a short presentation of the authentic, proud traditional blouses from the region of Moldova, and their owners told us their story and the story of those who coquettishly wore them in the past. And all this, how else, if not at a tasting of the local sweetness served with a glass of cold water, as it was done in the old days.

We remembered how the ladies used to party, how some of them used to gather in the women's group to discuss life. And we remembered what their lives looked like that allowed them to be so close together, three or four generations in the same space at the same time, on a normal Saturday.

This event is part of activity 8 - Local Feminist Solidarity Events carried out in the framework of the project "Gloria - Feminism and Strategic Approach to Gender Equality". This project supports the development/continuation of the promotion of the presence of women's organisations in the life of local communities by supporting events emblematic of women's organisations, which strengthen their presence in the life of citizens and support them in expanding their membership and creating feminist solidarity between the leaders of the organisations and the beneficiaries of the communities they come from.

The project is implemented by Community Safety and Mediation Center Foundation in partnership with the Romanian Women's LOBBY Association, Foreningen HEDDA; Network of East-West Women; Bulgarian Platform of European Women's Lobby; Magyar Női Érdekérvényesítő Szövetség (Hungarian Women's Lobby) and benefits from a 249,943 euros grant from Active Citizens Fund Romania, programme funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Grants Grants 2014 -2021: for more information visit www.eeagrants.org.
