SOLIDARITY on Women, Peace and Security (WPS)

Romanian Women’s Lobby (RoWL) joined 667 other organizations from around the world in signing the Open Letter to Permanent Representatives to the United Nations, ahead of the annual debate on Women, Peace and Security (WPS).

The letter calls on UN Member States to:

• cease the arming and violence against civilians,
• respect international law and end impunity,
• defend women’s rights and gender equality,
• support civil society organizations that advocate for women’s rights through secure participation and sustainable funding.

📌 In the final message, the signatory organizations send:

“We urge you to do the same, supporting the WPS agenda in solidarity with the millions of diverse women and girls who face the brutal realities of conflict every day: they deserve your courage, your resources, but above all the moral clarity that their lives cannot be considered sacrificial.”
