Dina Loghin to lead the European Women’s Lobby (EWL)

Today, Romania marks a historic moment in the European feminist movement: Dina Loghin, a women’s rights activist and prominent voice of civil society, was elected president of the European Women’s Lobby (EWL) – the largest umbrella organization in Europe dedicated to gender equality.

The EWL brings together over 2,000 organizations from across Europe, representing women from all corners of the continent, including from vulnerable and marginalized communities. The election of a Romanian woman to lead this structure means recognizing the work, resilience and commitment of feminist movements in Eastern Europe.

It is a great responsibility and a moment of profound solidarity. I bring with me to this position the voice of women from the East, from villages, from small NGOs, from places where they fight every day for dignity and visibility.” – Dina Loghin

This election sends a strong message: Europe needs more women in decision-making positions – women with empathy, vision and deep roots in reality.

Congratulations, Dina!

Congratulations, Romania!

Today, a Romanian woman opens a new chapter for women across Europe.
