The traditional shirt - the pride of the Moldavian village

Miroslava, Iași County

2022 - 09 July

The ladies from the Asociația Femeilor din Mediul Rural „Olga Sturdza” invited us to "a treat..." with surprises. And there were many surprises throughout the Miroslava event on July 9, 2022.

We wanted to spend a few hours together as young ladies used to do, how they used to gather in the group of women discussing life. To remember what their life was like that allowed them to be so close, three or four generations in the same space and at the same time, on a normal Saturday.

The special stars were the proud old traditional shirts, authentic shirts from the region of Moldova, and their owners told us their story and those who coquettishly wore them in the past. And all this, how else, if not at a tasting of the local jam served with a glass of cold water, as it was done in the old days.

The venue was not chosen by chance. Loaded with history and memories, the Sturdza Palace gave us the opportunity to follow a brief presentation of the life of Mrs. Olga Sturdza, who also gives the name of the local organization.

The event was organized within the project ‘GLORIA - feminism and strategic approach of gender equality’.

The project is implemented by Community Safety and Mediation Center Foundation in partnership with the Romanian Women's LOBBY Association, Foreningen HEDDA; Network of East-West Women; Bulgarian Platform of European Women's Lobby; Magyar Női Érdekérvényesítő Szövetség (Hungarian Women's Lobby) and benefits from a 249,943 euros grant from Active Citizens Fund Romania, programme funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Grants Grants 2014 -2021: for more information visit www.eeagrants.org.
